Today I’m going to talk about meditation and an app called Headspace. Meditation has been used for thousands of years. It is about being present and focusing on the breath. Headspace is a guided meditation app with tons of different types of meditations and packs. You can choose a single meditation from 3-5 minutes in length or complete one of their packs which can consist of 10-30 meditations within it.

You can access their site from here https://www.headspace.com/ there are usually deals they put on throughout the year and you can usually find anywhere between 40-60% off an annual subscription. Headspace was founded in London, England in 2015 by Andy Puddicombe. He is the voice of Headspace and can be heard in many of their meditations.

I have been meditating over that past few years now and Headspace is what initially got me into meditating from the beginning. I use it every single morning, and have logged nearly 700 sessions for over a total of 115 hours. It has helped me greatly in being able to control my emotions, be more present/mindful, de-stress, relax, and be in a clearer state of mind throughout each day.

Taking the time to focus on your breath each day can be exactly what the busy person today needs in their routine. Taking time for yourself to breath, be present and calm. Meditating isn’t only for monks and ancient gurus. A lot of successful people today use meditation to help them operate at such a high-level day after day.

Benefits of meditation:

As you can see there are many positive benefits of meditating. Not only is it great for your overall mind and bodily health but it is easy and quick to do. Most of the sessions I do now are 10 minutes long. All in it takes about 12 minutes out of my day. 12 minutes to get all these benefits day in and day out is amazing. I started doing meditations in Headspace that were just 1 minute long at the beginning. It takes time and practice to be able to control your thoughts and only focus on the breath for an extended period of time

Just to show you how important this practice can be in your life; I want to share with you some people in many different fields who use meditation in their lives. It can help these busy people whose timetables are scheduled down to the minute to stay calm and present. Allowing them to make smart decisions and to function at such a high level.

Extraordinarily successful people and figures who meditate regularly:

These people are in many different fields, yet all meditate regularly in their routines. If this doesn’t show you how key this tool is, I don’t know what will. If your looking to get more out of your life , meditation can get you that one step closer to greatness. The Headspace app has been helpful in my own life as it tracks everything you do and gives you goals and streaks to aim for. This can be a great way to track your habit and continue a long streak.

Meditation can be done anywhere with a phone or even just on your own without any devices. You don’t necessarily even need an app to follow along but that’s how I started. I like something to follow along with and help me along. The app costs around $70 for the year with an annual subscription or $13/month if you pay monthly. As I said before there are usually deals online if you hunt around. They also started offering a family plan where you can get access to 6 different accounts for $100 bucks a year which is an amazing deal! They also have offers for full-time students for $10/year in the U.S. If you are interested in these options please check out their site for more information https://www.headspace.com/.

If you are looking to live a happier life, control your emotions in stressful situations, and be present then meditating is for you. It doesn’t take much time and can be done anywhere at anytime. I hope you enjoyed this post and see the value in meditating daily. See you back here soon.
