Are you prepared to become unstoppable in your life? Expand your career, your social skills, your bank account and much more?? Your attitude is one of the most important “things” you want to control to expand your life once and for all. Someone with a positive attitude is the person who looks for the best in every situation. Someone who shows’s up early and leaves late - a problem solver of sorts. Someone with a negative attitude is the person who always has an excuse as to why they “can’t” do something. Someone who shows’s up late and leaves early (don’t be this one).
Attitude trumps all. It doesn’t matter what money you’re born into, your knowledge, skills, or talent you possess. In my opinion, someone with a positive uplifting attitude is someone who can adapt and learn whatever they need to and grow to beat out all the rest.
In today’s post, I’ll get into the power of having the right attitude - and 3 steps that will help you improve it to become an unstoppable force. Whether you want to move forward in your career, find a partner, or want to make new friends - having the right attitude will benefit you.
No matter what the journey may be, your attitude will have an impact on each area of your life. Being open-minded, adaptable, and happy will help you move forward one step at a time.
What is the right attitude? Having the right attitude is the person who smiles, says hello, works hard at whatever they do, says they're doing fantastic each day, says yes to their boss and gets the job done no matter what it takes. The person who goes the extra mile, not to show off to others, but to prove to themself that they can improve each and every day.
Who has the right attitude? Anyone can learn to adopt the right attitude. All it takes is a practice like anything else. Everyone can learn to bite their lip at the odd time when they want to say the wrong thing or smile and nod at the appropriate times.
Always be aware of your surroundings in life. Who do you normally hang around with? What do you talk about? Where do you spend most of your time? Are you present throughout the day or operating on autopilot?
Getting the right attitude has a lot to do with your environment. Your surroundings are critical to the life you live and the person you become - which in turn affects your attitude.
If you hang around with people who smoke guess what - you probably smoke. If you hang around with people who earn minimum wage - you probably earn minimum wage, and so on.
The people, groups, colleagues, and family members you surround yourself with have a massive impact on the attitude you have right now, tomorrow, and next year. Lucky for you, if you find yourself in the dumps and always making excuses about everything - you can change your surroundings, thus changing your attitude!
Yes, this can take time and effort but is well worth it.
Who do you want to be? Have you ever thought about this question? Take a few minutes right now and write it down. Who do you see yourself in 5 years' time as? What clothes do you wear? What food do you eat? What conversations do you have? Who are the people you hang around with day today? What kind of things do you do to look after your health and wellness? How much money do you have in your bank account?
Write down in detail a paragraph of the person you want to become 5 years from today. By doing this exercise you are creating a clear picture of that person. What they wear, their lifestyle, what they do, and so on.
Now that you have that picture - live it. Be the person with that attitude right now. Are they brave and have a ton of confidence? Are they smiling and grateful for each day when they wake up? What qualities do they have and what attitude would that person have each day? Be that person. Have the attitude of that person today, tomorrow, and every day from now on. Commit to living and creating that person over the next 5 years.
What do you have in your life? Do you have good health, a roof over your head, food in your fridge, a car to get around, clean water to drink, friends, or a supportive family? Maybe the one thing you have is another day to live.
Write down what you’re grateful for each and every day. Most people are living in the future. You may have said, “once I get that or achieve that goal then I’ll be happy.” Really… Sorry to break it to you but that’s not how it works.
When you express gratitude you are creating more happiness and joy in your life. Even if you don’t have much, you likely have a lot more than most people. When you chase the next biggest thing after another and don’t stop to smell the roses you will be unfulfilled, unhappy, and have a poor attitude.
By expressing gratitude daily you will begin to create the right attitude to get where you want. Someone who is grateful for the day because you never know when it could be your last. Try writing down 3 things you are grateful for every morning and every night.
This is a powerful technique I have used and I am certain it can do wonders to shape your attitude for the better.
So, are you ready to become an unstoppable force in life? You don’t have to wait to cultivate a better attitude, you can start right now. You have it in you to take control of your life and live one day at a time. Follow these 3 steps to grow in all areas of your life and be that person you want to be.
