I believe most of us want to be successful in our lives, career, family, health and so on each day. Even if it’s to improve upon ourselves year after year. This sometimes seems like a daunting task and something that is far from our reach.

Being successful or even just driven towards something can take a good amount of time and patience. Most overnight successes are not real and have been working and failing for years before they rise to riches. This can lead to so many of us getting overwhelmed month after month as we are not seeing results right away. It can be frustrating, hard and the days seem to fly by in a flash.

Therefore, dominating your day is so important. What you do every day for better or for worse is going to determine your overall trajectory in the long term. If we look to the future it can seem overwhelming with tons of tasks to be done over a long period of time. This can blur our vision and stop us from even getting started on anything we want to do in the first place.

In this post I want to share with you some habits and tools that I have learned and experienced in my life. They have helped be to dominate my day, leading to small achievements each day promoting more achievements down the road.

Wake up Earlier

It all starts with an early start in the morning. People are tired from the weeks of work and being busy non-stop throughout the day. Waking up early will give you that much needed quiet time for yourself. If you don’t carve out this time for yourself early on where there are little if no distractions your day will take over your time for you. Waking early is a habit and something we can all do with time and practice.

Ideally if you can rise at least an hour before everyone else in your household or even a couple hours before work shift you should have plenty of time to focus on self-care. Looking after yourself is by far one of the most important things in your life, if it is not, I advise you to go back to the drawing board and prioritize it near the top.

Without looking after yourself you will not be able to live a healthy life or help and support anyone else along the way. Rising early can give you that extra time to read, meditate, journal, review your goals, write in your planner, workout, do yoga, or prepare a healthy breakfast to start your day off right.

Giving yourself at least an hour to work on yourself and enhance your own life will pay off more then you ever could imagine in the long run. An hour a day may not seem like a lot but over a year it adds up to 365 hours of self-development. Add on years and you will go beyond anywhere you thought you could go.

This will be the time to develop your mind, body and spirit in a positive way to keep you on track to improve yourself.

Plan your Day

Although we will hit many speed bumps throughout the day, if we are prepared and have a plan, we are in a much better position to deal with whatever comes our way. Things may not go as planned some of the time and that’s just life.

If you plan your day with a planner like Panda Planner (or anything else you prefer), it will help you stay on top of your time and tasks each day. There is especially useful information for the beginning day like gratitude and what your excited about. As well as at the end of the day like your wins and how you can improve.

A planner will help to schedule your time better and knock of the important tasks for each day. I have gotten into a habit of using my planner each and everyday whether I’m home, travelling, or at work. It acts as a nice reminder for what I want to accomplish that day as well as a visual guide to follow.

Stick to a Schedule

Our bodies are designed to wake up with the sun and sleep when its dark. Our circadian rhythm is a 24-hour cycle that occurs in our bodies which regulates our sleep and wake cycles. This has a major affect on our bodies regarding hormone production, brain wave activity, and cell regeneration.

This is a built-in function of our bodies and to function at an optimal level each day we want to stick to a solid schedule each week regarding our sleep. This means by going to bed and waking at the same times if possible. By sticking to a schedule each day, we are best set up to have a successful day where we feel energized and can think properly to make positive decisions.

Regulate Blood Sugar

Regulating your blood sugar level each day ensures your body is working properly and limits the risk of diabetes or other diseases. If you want to dominate each day you will require positive energy that your body can burn as fuel. By limiting massive spikes in our blood sugar from simple carbohydrates like white bread or candies we will be operating at a more stable level throughout the day.

Some ways to regulate your blood sugar levels are:

If you can improve your nutrition and/or exercise routine it will also aid your body well. Incorporating some or many of these tips will help you perform at your best.

As you can see getting where you want to go can be a long journey, so we want to focus on the now and dominate our day to move ahead. It will take positive habits each day to get lasting results. If you have a bad day don’t sweat it, we all do. What’s important is you get back on track the next day and take control of it.
