Fear is something we all will deal with at one point in our lives. The fears of starting or trying something new happen to people each day. Whether it’s the fear of failure, success, security, or being judged by others. Fear is often the cause that will hold you in your tracks, wishing you would do something new but don’t take that very first step towards getting there.
Why do millions of people all around the world go to jobs they hate every single day? Why do people like you commute in traffic 3 hours a day to make someone else rich? Why do people fail to pursue ideas, dreams, goals, desires, better health, or new friends? Fear.
Fear can be in many shapes and forms, it holds people from taking action. Taking the first step towards starting a business, changing careers, moving to a new city, or investing in a new project. Fear is the little voice inside your head that keeps on saying “what if you fail, what if you can’t handle it, it’s too hard, your too old, you aren’t worthy.”
This voice can stop you in your tracks. And you may even start to believe it and agree that you couldn’t have accomplished it anyway. From my personal experience, to live your life on your terms, you must try the new things you are interested in. The job, the career, the investment, whatever is sparking your interest at this current time in your life, just go for it.
By deciding you will try and start something new is a huge step in the right direction. Most people won’t even try. But if you want to make an impact and affect your life for the best you must. You must commit to living Your Optimal Lifestyle every day. Try a new job, move to a new city, hang out with different friends, join a new gym, change your routine up once in a while.
You have the power to alter the course of your life with the decisions you make. These decisions will put you down another path so to speak that can lead to new and exciting opportunities. If you don’t try anything new and are satisfied with the average then that is where you will remain for the rest of your life. At the end of the day, what’s the worst that could happen?
Sure, things sometimes don’t work out, but if you never take any chances I guarantee you will life a life of regret. People die every single day with a list of regrets.
A Business Insider article talks about Bonnie Ware, someone who looks after people in the last few weeks and months of their lives. She published a blog about the 5 biggest regrets that she heard from patients.
Does anything sound familiar in your own life? Take a good look at your life right now, are you living a life short of what it could be? When you take a step back and assess your life you can figure out some areas you can work on so you don’t have the same regrets as the majority of people.
