Doing what you love in life often is important to your mental and physical health. Doing things you like to do and are interested in will help you to live a happier and healthier life. In today’s post, I’ll get into why making time to do things for you needs to be prioritized.

The time is now, no one is going to create more time for you in a day or tell you to enjoy your favourite activity on the daily. If you love to go for long walks make it a priority. If you like going to the gym and looking after your body do it often.

Time is running out in your life whether you are young or old. If you don’t capitalize on this moment you will lose it forever. The importance of action and “just doing it” so to speak is real.

I see so many people who work too much, are underpaid and don’t enjoy the life they live. This is a recipe for exhaustion, burnout, and a life that’s bland and boring. In order to have more fun and get the most out of life, you must do the things you love to do!

Time Isn’t on Your Side

Time flies - literally. Have you ever had a time in your life where you look back and it’s already December and the year is gone? Or back from a job you’ve worked at, stressed out without a proper work-life balance for the past decade?

Time will pass with or without you doing anything you want. Time doesn’t care how you choose to spend it. People often think they have an unlimited supply of the most valuable asset in existence - time. This isn’t the case and time is precious each and every day.

This is why allotting some time each and every day or even three to five times a week to enjoy life is key for you to get the most out of it. Setting aside even one hour three times a week to do a fun sport can have the power to change the shape of your life.

Understand the importance of time and put a sense of urgency on what you want to do. If you can do this you will be much better off to a meaningful and purposeful life.

Do it Now

Actions speak louder than words. Get in the habit of doing what you want now. Don’t say you’ll do it next week. This is especially true when it’s doing something you love each week. Go for the walk or go to the gym today.

Action can be a tough habit to build but well worth it in the end. The way to increase your action muscles is to act on things immediately. Stop making excuses and just do what you say you’re going to do.

There are a lot of talkers in the world who talk about a big game. I’ve found it more useful to keep my intentions on the low down and take actions along the way. Keep your head down and get some real results by taking one step after another.

Write Down Your Intentions

Writing down what you want to do in life is huge. Taking the necessary time to do what you want is great but often to get there and actually do it is the tough part. Writing down your intentions can be the deal-breaker between doing something and failing to do something.

Write down any and everything you want to do. Put it on paper. Take time to jot down some notes in a workbook or scrap piece of paper before you do anything. I’m positive this will help you take the first step towards doing what you want and more.

The power of writing is often undervalued. Writing things down can be relaxing and therapeutic so to speak. Giving you some peace of mind as your pen writes down what you’re ultimately thinking.

The question now is what do you love to do?

What are three things you want to put more time into in your life? Try not to focus on career or work-related activities for this. Focus on the things you enjoy and want to do more of. The tasks you find fun and exciting.

Figure out these three things and implement them into your week right now. Take control of your day and schedule once and for all. Stop letting others determine your plans and take action on what’s truly important to you.
